how long till my coral takes hold of a rock?

just got a stubby finger coral (my first coral) and i have it rubberbanded to a rock and it seems to be doing fine. Im just wandering how long it'll take for it to attach to the LR so i can the rubber band off and out of my tank?

sometimes very fast, like within a week. other times, longer.

You should be able to see the flesh starting to attach. It won't hurt to just leave the rubberband on for a couple of weeks.
