Well I finally set up a 10g hospital tank to treat the bacteria infections on my chromis. My question is how long to cycle? I bought premixed saltwater with perfect conditions. 10 KH 0 nitrate 0nitrite and 0 amonia. I used a 1 inch bed of crushed coral and have a few things for the fish to hide in. I got a penguin filter for water circulation. I will take out the filter in it when I medicate due to the carbon filter.
This tank shouldn't need to be cycled should it???

There is a poll that Beth started in the fish discussion section on "Do you quarantine." You will find a lot of excellent feedback in it on QT/Hospital tanks.
If you have a sand bed in the hospital tank, once you add inhabitants and start to feed, the tank will cycle. Either do so before adding fish, or use water from your main display tank with some of the sand to help it along.
