Let me go back a little bit.
I had a clown fish, lawnmower blennie, diamond gobi, mandarin gobi, blue damsel. My wife bought a powder blue and it got ich, then everything in the tank got ich. The powder blue died. My wife had gotten marin oomed from the pet store. It wasn't working, so I got a quarantine tank, 10gal. Put the fish in there with some Coppersafe and I fried all but the blue damsel. So, I put sand in it and live rock. We treated with marin oomed and it worked fine. Got rid of the ich on the blue damsel. She bought a 3 stripe and another damsel that I didn't know what it was. They were all in the q tank. Then she got the cowfish (against my approval, it is her tank), it got ich and we put it in the q. We treated with marin oomed (she wanted to give it a chance instead of hypo). the big damsel was biting the cowfish so we got rid of it. Then we got a cleaner shrimp. Everything looked good on saturday, no ich. Then my wife did a water change and put the carbon into the filters to take out the marin oomed (supposed to use it in cycles). Sunday, the cowfish was dead. Not sure why. Come to find out, she didn't put the dechlorinator into the tap water.
Oh, I was furious, she did the same in the show tank and didn't add Iodine so my xenias are dying (i added iodine and they are looking better) Last night the blue damsel died and the 3 stripe looks bad. So, we are going to go get some R/O water from the water store and still add the dechlorinator and do some water changes. Now I am in charge of what goes into the tank. And I will be the one testing all the parameters. NO MORE MARIN OOMED!!! Hypo only. AND, I'm going to start making my own food for when I have some fish (I don't want to get some fish for at least a month to put into the q tank)
sorry so long.
