if you are referring to an anemone, never, they are too hard to keep for any amount of time, they should live for 100+yrs(no kidding), but in hte aquarium, they almost never see1 yr. they are too delicate
but sof corals often work well
my clown went to its host insantly,I have two anenomes about 2 yrs now doing great in my 30 gal...my maroon went to themright away..so then I introdeced a tomato (?) but the maroon wanted both hosts so tomato went else where.. it also depends on what host you have...
