how long should i wait after my 55 gallon has cycled until i put in a pygmy angel? thinking about a coral beauty or a cherub.

I would say when it's cycled it's safe. That is the whole point of cycling.

I would suggest a dwarf angel as your last fish, simply because they are not hardy, and they can become territorial, and may pick at new fish.

They are hardy, but don't do too well with the fluctuations that newer tanks have. I would say at least six months.
