Hi guys, I dont ususal post in the nano section but I have a question to ask specifically for nano members
I am wondering how many of you out there with 10 gal nanos have more than two fish in them. Now I am not talking about big fish that require exstensive care like a tang (obviously) or angle fish.
I mean along the lines of perc clowns... gobys... blennies.
Would like to get some good feedback
Thanks guys :)

When I had my ten set up I had two firefish and a peppermint shrimp and didn't have any problems. Could have probably added a small goby and been ok. I now have a 20L with the two firefish, the shrimp, and a new black and white perc. I will probably add another small fish and will for sure add at least two more shrimp. I expect everything to be fine.

Well I have a ten gal with one small clown, a purple firefish and a coral banded shrimp.
I would like to get a clown goby... I have heard they are very small.
What do you think?

Clown goby is a very small fish and I can't see it adding too much to your bioload, and to my understanding isn't very active either. I think you will be fine, just keep up with water changes, and don't over feed. But don't just go on what I say, lets let a few more members voice their opinion before you make a decision.;)

Thanks :)
Thats why I though it was an ok fish to add, I though about size and the bio load.
I will see what some others say!
Thanks Aggie05!:D

What species of clown?? If it is one that typically stays small then go for it!! I will second Aggie's advise on keep up the water changes. Also the clown goby will need some places to perch. Mine is a green clown goby in with my pair of percula clowns. He perches on my green hairy shrooms and on my green candy cane .... they are awesome fish!!! lots of fun to watch as they are clumsy swimmers!
Sounds like a sweet set-up can you post some pictures??

Since everyone was talking about FISH in NANOs, I wanted to ask. The LFS has an eclipse 6 gallon with a single percula clown and some cleaner shrimp in it, with LR. Is that system too small, and the clown will eventually stress and get ill or what? Just curious as to what y'all thought. I do not think the tank will recieve the attention it deserves at the store . . .

water quality aside - clowns roam a very small section of thereef in the wild (ppercs and oscellaris clowns) so a smaller tank like ten gallons would not be bad for a single clown or a mated pair. Having said that - back in my time of ignorance I kept a pair in a 5 gallon and they mated in it all the time ....

Thanks guys!!
I bough a green clown golby this weekend. Hes so small. I don't think he will affect much in the tank! I am doing weekly water changes .. in fact one tonight!!
He seems to be pretty still in the water.....
He stays in one spot. Lots of rock work to sit or perch on.
I wish I could post some pics.. I will see if I can barrow a digital cam from a friend!
Thanks again

In my 10 I have found 3 to be too many, couldn't maintain water quality. One is perfect & 2 can be done.
