How many fish?

I have a question. I have a 75g f/o tank with sailfin tang, volitan lion, flame angel, koran angel, 2 percula clowns a saddleback butterfly and a puffer (don't know what kind; my girlfriend bought it for me). I know all you guys are going to say that is too many fish in a 75g. However, when I go to my lfs, they have a whole bunch in their tank. I know I should limit myself to a certain amount in the tank, but when I look at other fish, I want to buy it. So how come people always say that you shouldn't get too many fish. All mine are healthy and fine. I was just wondering that's all. :D Pretty soon, however, I will be getting a 180-200g tank.

I work in my LFS part time and we don't over stalk too much e do but very minimal do to the sales we do it is not uncommon for somone to walk in to our store and buy 800-900$ worth of fish in one time. My first comment to them is are these all going in one tank at the same time if they answer yes i wont sell them more than 3 fish at a time.

My volitan is fairly small so I'm not worried about him yet. I might even do a 20g reef tank and put my two clowns in them before the lion eats it. That will thin out the tank a bit.

WAY OVER STOCKED! Start thinning out. Some of the fish you have are big eaters and as a result produce allot of waste. Trouble will brew in the future if you don't move some of the fish out. I have a different view about gal. per ionch then others. If you have good filtration, skimming, and lots of L/R( at least one pound per galon of water), you should be ok with 2 gallons of water per 1 inch of fish. The calculation s/b made using adult size length from the beginning. Fish s/b left in tanks and not moved around so much. Also it is important to correctly calculate actual water volume in the tank taking into consideration displacement caused by sand, L/R, etc. The best of luck!

I think you guys are right. After I gave my two damsels to my mother, I bought the Koran Angel (about 2.5inches) and I don't think my fish are acting the same. They don't move as much and usaully hides. Is this normal? I'll probably do a 20g reef tank pretty soon and take my clowns there and also sell back the stupid puffer. It doesn't do anything and doesn't even look nice. That would only leave the volitan, koran angel, flame angel, sailfin tang, and a saddleback butterfly. Do you guys still think this is too much? This should be o.k until I upgrade.
