I'm picking up a 125 today
and i'm wondering how much it's going to weigh empty. I just want to figure out how many friend-cards i'm going to have to pull to get this in the house, as well as how much pizza and beer i'll be picking up

2 people is all you need for a 125. I have done it a few times now. Even stairs that we had to twist around a landing once.
Oops btw...baseball stats lol
I am about 5' 11" 160 lbs...not all that big of a guy.

Definitely have 3, 2 to carry it and another to get the doors and move things around while you are carry it. You don't want to set this thing down and pick it up too many times. Its awkward and heavy. Make sure where you put it its level and ready. Cause you ain't moving it after there is gravel and a bit of water in it.
Have fun.

Probably a good idea to open doors and move things before you pick up the 200 lb object. 2 people...don't buy beer and pizza for a guy to open a door

Why not. In fact you can buy me a beer and pizza. And I will supervise the whole thing LOL

Well supervising...that's another story. The supervisor may be needed if you can't tell to open the door before you start to walk into the house with 200 lbs. In this case the supervisor is extremely important and probably worth more than the given pizza and beer, as I suspect much larger unforseen problems coming if the initial door is not thought of.

Just razzing you friend (one that suggested 3). My sarcasm has probably gone too far now. Never fear I am off to get ready for work, and will be out of your hair. Again...Just Jokes

Most definitely more then two. That will effectively take you out of the equation. Why use your back when you can use your head. Just remember to use the phrase “ok guys now be very careful”

do you think the tank and factory cabinet would fit into the back of my grand cherokee? i figure they'll only be 36" across, maybe 38". if i can do this in one trip, that would be fabulous.

Hmmmmmm.............

2 will honestly do (as said above) but if your friends are around take a truckload. You can't ever have too many, unless they are all trying to be the supervisor.

Just that I am not aware of the formula for converting dimension into weight and wonder about your use of the volume calculation to do so. As you know I am always looking for the correct path to follow and you are in fact one of my teachers!!!!!

Easy one Henry check on line for a tank the size you want then ask them the shipping cost it is predicated on weight or
Glass weighs 162 pounds per cubic foot.
1" thick glass weighs 1/12 of that or 13.5 lb/ft2
1/4" thick glass = .25 x 13.5 = 3.375 lb/ft2
3/8" thick glass = .375 x 13.5 = 5.063 lb/ft2
1/2" thick glass = .5 x 13.5 = 6.75 lb/ft2
Hay I cant make this stuff up or can I
