How many GPH with my 90 gallon?

I tried to find some info on this but couldn't find anything. How many times should my tank cycle in an hour? My local fish dealer told me 6 times an hour would be enough. Just wondering if this is correct.

If this is a reef then your LFS was way off. For a reef usually a 25X turnover per hour is good so 90x25=2250gph total(this includes all powerheads, return pumps, etc.). If this is a fish only I think that 6 would be enough because the current wouldnt need to be that strong.

depends on what type of corals you are keeping.
10x---fish only
20x good for all corals except sps
30-50x for sps corals.
Just for reference, when I had my 180 going, I had approx 7500 gph flow from various sources.

So the flow of water in the main tank should be that high. How about the flow of water from my sump to my main tank?

I would run a mag 9.5 from your sump to your main tank as a return pump
then I would add a couple koralia 4's, one on each end for additional flow in your diplay tank
