I just got my tank set up and need a light. I'm not gonna have a reef just fowlr. The dimensions are 72x15x18. I just want to be able to see everything good. I cannot find any lights bigger than 48in. Would this be enought light?

no, 48" is too short for your tank. both ends of your tank will have very low light. I just bought a 60" mh + vho retro kit, for $325. If you like, I can forward you the contact information.

I don't want vho. Just a single strip light fluorescent. Nothing to expensive.

Im sure there is a single strip flourescent thats six feet. BUT Its going to be expensive as it is. ANything that needs a light bulb that big is going to need more light than a single flourescent. You may be very disappointed by a single bulb. I personally would buy a vho ballast. They are about 150-200 and allow the connection of 1-4 bulbs i believe.

Ok so if i got the vho's would i have enought light for a reef or any corals. If I am going to spend $200 on lights i want them to be able to have a few corals.

Most definitely you could keep some corals. If thats something you want to get into. Its even more expensive :) What you may want to do is really really think about the future of this hobby for you. If you trully believe in the years to come youll keep going then i would invest in a good light ballast that youll be able to use years from now....

Ok so i have looked around and found a coral life 72in ballast that can hook up 2 bulbs. Is this a quality ballast or a cheaper one. Also how much would the bulbs cost. Could i keep any corals under it?

I found the bulbs. They all seem to be 160watt. That seems pretty high. What kind of bulbs are the best like 10000k or 50/50 or what. Also would that heat up my tank a bunch.
