i have aprox 80-90 lbs of fosilized rock in my 55 gal tank with some fake and fosilized corals and staghorns.. i have 2 clownfish, angle, tang, trigger, hawkfish, baslet, damsel, and a dragon. what im thinking of doing is cutting my rock down to about 20-30 lbs of rock and setting up my staghorns and fake corals. is this too much rock to take out or do the fish need all the 80 lbs of rock, i dont want my fish to stress out but i would like to open up the room in the tank. right now all the rocks make it cluttered.

it sounds like you might have too many fish in your tank. What type of trigger, angel, hawkfish ect.. do you have, and what is the size of them? Fish need swimming space, take some of those rocks out of that tank.

i have a huma huma trigger and a yellow tang and singapore angle. the tank has been set up for about 1 year all the fish have been in there for 10 months except for the trigger. ive had the trigger for 2 months. i have a millenium 2000 and a skilter 400 filters. i also have a uv sterilizer i want to move out alot of my rocks but i still want the biological activity to affectively break down the ammonia.
