I just upgraded to a 100 gallon tank. I have 2 Hagen 802 powerheads in it right now that push 400 gph each. Do I need to add more? Where is the best place to position them?

Personally, I like using smaller powerheads. It will take more to get the same current but you can put it in more places and even use timers.

A powerhead can be attached to undergravel filtration systems, or used alone..they can push water or air around your tank for circulation..You need that in your tank, to kinda replicate the ocean movement...
They are not really expensive, I have three small ones on my 55 gl..

I have a 29 gallon tank and use two powerheads a 550 and 900. I wonder if I'm sometimes using to much water movement.

I have my 802 powerheads on each end of my tnak. one is in the left corner and the other is in the left. Both are running wide open on a wave timer. Should I leave them where they are or move them somewhere else?
