I have a 46 gal tank with a chocolate and red africian star in it right now. Im wanting a red general star (I think thats the name). Is it possible to house this many stars in a 46 gal?

You are pushing it with the three, but if you have ample live rock and supplement with algae for them you should be ok.

All of the stars named are predatory stars, and really don't require algae or live rock. They are easily spot fed with something meaty, which I highly recommend. That is not to say they will not "graze" on LR or algae pellets or even the glass...
It is possible to house these stars in the 46g if small - so long as water parameters are ideal - but NO Linckia or Fromia stars, IMO. It may be pushing it a bit, but if things are going well...
How long have you had the current stars, and how old is your tank? What are your future plans with the tank?
Remember none of these stars are reef safe and may eat snails, corals, clams, scallops and many other things. (just don't want to see that "my star ate my _______" post in the future :D )

Ive had my cc star for a year almost, and the red africian for about 6 months. I did have problems with the red africian and you helped me with him. He still has an amputated leg, but has improved a lot. Hes eating like crazy now. I dont have any corals, Just live rock and sand. The tank is about 15 months.
