Please use LS, you will be happier in the long run. CC is a nitrate trap.
Really? I thought I remember reading something that said that LS was not as good to use as CC unless you are keeping things that burrow in the sand. Otherwise nitrates and gasses will build up in the sand. I could be wrong though...

When it comes to nitrates and other gunk, it's the CC that really gathers it. Unless you want to vacuum your substrate all the time, you will stay away from CC.

Yes, go with live sand. When i started out, i had sand, and my p.h. was very low. I inquired at the pet store and they said i needed to use crushed coral as a buffer.. so i got some and added it to the sand....but my nitrates tend to be higher than normal, and this could be a reason. plus, cc not as nice looking as sand.
