Speaking only of the prices at the local fish stores, the cheapest that I can get fiji for is $4.50 a pound. One chain of stores in my area is selling marshall island for $10 a pound! It's all very overpriced in my area. My next purchase of rock will be from one of the online vendors, probably this site or flying fish express.

FFE dosn't have that impressive rock from reading from different peoples opinions.
LR at my LFS is 5.00 a pound but I think it's worth the price if I can pick and choose my pieces.

i am from miami and I would expect our prices would be lower than everyone else throughout the country, but it isn't. I pay 5-6 for figi, 6-7 for branch and about 5-6 for everything else. we even pay 2.99 for base rock. But the olny good thing is that the rock is hand picked and beautiful at the store that I go to. Has anyone here ever bought that DECO premium rosk? Is it really that great and what is the die off on that rock? What does the rock bring and after having it for 6 months does the life still remain. thanks

Geez, at my lfs, the price is $15.99 a #. I can't afford that. Even though the pieces are gorgeous, I won't pay the price..
I bought my lr from swf.com.
Anyone know of any internet places that sells good stuff and cheaper?

My first order was from SWF.com, and I was pleased with it. Then read a post stating the largest wholesaler of LR is Walt Smith, and most online sites get from him. My second order was from www.***************.com I called and talked with them, they do not get from Walt Smith...I wanted to see the difference and I wanted larger pieces. I was very pleased. They sent 7-10 lb pieces, shipping weight was 90 lbs which meant I actually got 80 lbs of LR and price was reasonable. I reccomend them for LR, they ship the day you order also. And they respond fairly quickly to their e-mail. good luck.
