How much does it cost to set up a quarintine tank?

Do you all leave yours up and running or only get it running when you plan on puting a fish in it?

I use a 20 gal with cruhed coral substrate, and lits of live rock for hiding places, with a small bio wheel filter, and weak lighting that came with the tank. I leave mine running all the time and found that it is a good way of creating mushroom rocks from the ones tha tfall off iin my main tank as there is little lighting and water movement!

i spent about 40$ for my ten and it is constintly running with a clarky clown in it to keep it cycling and not just an empty tank.
