how much flow?

ok i have a 150gal
wana do mixed reef but majority sps (60%)
i have 2 tunze 600 gph on my 65 gal now.
i will mod them to push 1000 gph.
what else do i need for powerheads?
i also have a 700gph return pump that will have to nozzles on it.
what else should i do for powerheads?

if you mod the tunze and get 1000gph out of both of them and you add the 750gph return pump (also have to account for head loss) you'll be right around 15x turnover. you want at least 30x turnover imo, 45 would be better.
i would look into a closed loop system with a nice size pump. this wont clutter your tank with powerheads (considering you'll already have the 2 tunzes in there). i would look inot the sequence pumps. there reasonably priced and they have a bunch of sizes to choose from.

i am in the middle of building a CLS on my 150 with a Reeflo Sequence DART pushing it. that pump puts out 3600 GPH i believe off the top of my head. you can see plans on my upgrade thread in the DiY section.

im kinda considering tunze wave box. alot of cash but one sweet azz device.
but if i did go wave box coudl i get away with only 2 600 gph powerheads?

you'd be fine with just the 2 600gph powerheads. just an fyi, the tunze wave box works best with a center pverflow, so if you didnt buy the tnak yet, or its not reef ready, you may want to consider that being an option on your tank.
