How much is overfeeding?

I've always known that as long as your fish can finish the food in one minute period that's not overfeeding. Or as long as there's no food falls down and ended up on the sand bed, you're not overfeeding. Is that right? Or am I just making stuff up here?
Sinner girl told me that one brine shrimp of hers last her longer than two days for two fishes. I only have one, and it only last me two days. Am I overfeeding? How do I know whether or not I'm overfeeding? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />
Help?! Overfeeding is a big issue for a small tank like mine. So can anyone please help?
Thanks,

hey, one brine shrimp cube does last me longer.
does your fish eat what you give it? does any food fall to the bottom the tank? you have a clean up crew so any that does fall will be gobbled up by them. It's possible the size of cubes differ?
I think you said you feed more than once a day, I only feed brine shrimp once a day, they might get a few flakes if they beg or if i'm feeding the shrimp.
For a 55gl tank a cube should last about a week (that's what lfs told us...we only have two fish so it last us a longer) giving the fish 1/8 of the cube each day.
I can't tell if you're overfeeding, maybe I'm under feeding? The big clown is fat and the little is growing.
sorry I wasn't of any real help, maybe someone else will answer

Oh I see, that's why. I feed my clown several times a day. That's the recommended way of feeding clownfish, small amounts several times a day. Sometimes I don't feed them brine shrimp, I feed them flakes. Both food, none falls to the ground. Even if it does, normally I'm trying to feed my cleaner crew, aka cleaner shrimp who's too lazy to swim up, and that's not much. But yeah, my clown eats like crazy, and normally I drop about two pieces of brine shrimp, let it eats and drop another two keeps going until it stops :D .

it also depends on the fish, some eat more than others, and larger eat more than smaller, and so on
but if you only feed enough that the fish eats it all , and you have no nitrate problems, you are fisne, what i go by is when the fish slows down, i will stop, that way they can fineish up the little that it is left, and be done for a couple of hours

FYI - I feed my animals (mostly herbivores) flake four time a week (at least twice a day) and frozen veg and brine shrimp three times a week (with a small flake feeding in the morning) so my hermits (if I don't they eat each other) and I continue to check the water conditions.
I am feeding a bit much but as long as the animals are swimming around, the nitrates are low and my hermits/shrimp/detrivores eat the rest, I figure I'm doing it right.

Now I'm starting to think I'm under feeding. The cubes I have are about this size ____ (my drawing didn't turn out right.) ____ = lxhxw
So should I be feeding my clowns more? my fish look heathly and like I said the big one is fat and the little one is growing. I'd like to feed more than once a day, but I'm not home during the day (class) and I'm asleep at night. Is it ok to sometimes feed them more than once (say on the weekend when I'm home)? or should I feed them the same way everyday?
Thanks
