How much is TOO much filtracion?

I know it is said you can not have too much filtration...But I do have a question as to what is needed.
75 Gal...possible 90
I have 2 Fluval 304 canister filters new, and one Emporer 400 wheel thing.
I am going to buy a reverse osmosis filter for home...???? Not sure which one to buy???? Seems to me one that was 30 or 40 gal a day would be plenty????
I found a new Berlin Sump for 135 bucks...DO I NEED IT??????
I plan on doing a Fish with Live Rock to start, but would like the ability ( filtration ) to upgrade...
What about a Wet/dry system...Those seem a little pricey. Is it a must?
Obviously, I will add a protein Skimmer soo. Is it easier to have a skimmer in a sump???
Any info would be appreciated. I know the questions are so basic for you folks, but different opinions are much appreciated.

I would definatly have the tank drilled for internal overflow. Then have it drain into a sump or wet/dry. I used a wet/dry for a couple of years before setting up a refugium and converting the wet/dry into a sump with just the heater and skimmer and a block sponge to reduce noise.
If possible I'd setup a sump/fuge combo myself.
Personally I don't like the canister filters as many folks get lazy and don't clean them often enough and they are simply a pain to clean over and over again. Any build up in those canisters can lead to a nitrate problem.
With enough liverock and livesand in the tank, a good sump with a good return pump, and maybe even a spraybar at the return to the main should give you plenty of flow and eliminate too many powerheads. That right there should give you ample filtration. If that isn't enough add a refugium with macro algea and you would be styling.

So, I should used the Canisters to get the tank going, and As I add More and more LR , over the months to come, phase the canisters out and go to a Sump, or wet/dry? Could you explain what the difference is? And a Refugium is different than a sump how??
I thought the Canister filters were really the berries. I am not getting into the hobby to leaf on necassary tank chores...
