How much Lighting do you need

I have about 4.5 watts per gallon and Im wondering what kind of corals could you put under that light. Im new to saltwater so dont say lps or sps or any abbreviations. The tank is 24 inches tall.

You need to specify what type of light and what you want to put under it.
T'5 is what you should look for though if you want to kep alot of stuff under it

There are 4 - 150watt M Halides, 4 - 95 watt Super Actinic bulbs, and 4- 65watt compact florescents.

acans are easy and nice or mushrooms with your lights you can keep almost anything.I would get a good test kit for reef tank and a good skimmer also

Could you please tell me what kind of tests I should get for the reef tank. And I already have a Protein skimmer. Although its not working because I think there is not enough stuff in the water for it to skim.
