i was wondering how much live rock and sand i should get for a 29 gallon tank? i am setting tank up just for two mandarin gobies. so i want to be sure to have plenty of pods.
I would go with 4-5 inches of live sand (DBS). You should go with about 1- 1 1/2 lbs. live rock per gallon. So almost 50 pounds would be very sufficient.
I've neverkept them in a tank as small as a 30. Im not saying it cant be done, and one who wants to add to this post feel welcome, as far as keeping 2 healthy mandarins in a 30. One thing i can say is make sure the tank is set up for a long time, to let the pod pop. grow make sure you feed the pods too
