how much sand

How much sand should I use to make my sand bed. I have a 110 gallon but it is the 4 foot long version. Around how many inches should i use. If you know the amount in pounds that would be a great help also. Should i use the same depth for the refugium also?

i think 1-1.5" is a good sand bed

Most people shoot for about 3-4', do a search for DSB(deep sand beds).
An equation to find out how much sand you need.
lenght(in inches) x width(in inches) x desired depth(in inches) x .0579 = lbs sand

wocka just wondering how long you have been doing salt water tanks?
