How much sand?

Sorry if this is a duplicate-like post. I started a similar thread in the new hobby forum about which brand of live sand to use.
Anyway, I would like to hear how much sand the rest of you 24g Aquapod owners used. Going by the tank dimensions, SWF recommends 68 lbs. for a 5" sand bed. Would I be better off going with a shallow bed of 2" or less? I doubt I will have a sand sifting star... Most likely just a few crabs and snails and 2-3 small fish.

I've comonly heard 1 pound per gallon. I have 30lbs in a Biocube 29, but it only holds about 23 gallons. not sure if that helps.

Agreed..Round to the nearest 20 and that should be your average pundage

I put 80lbs in a 24g nanocube, and have a true 5" sandbed.
