How much to feed soft corals?

I have some small yellow polyps and mushrooms in my tank. I usually feed them Kent chromaplex every other day with the turkey baster. My lfs said I should only use the chromaplex sparingly cause it causes algae breakouts (red slime). I know that they proabably get their nutrients at night too when the lights are out. Is this ample feeding for them?

Well I may be feeding them quite well if the algae from the glass is good for them cause I scrape that away like every other day  The mushrooms are green and red spotted. They seem to do well but it would be a lot easier to not have to use the turkey baster all the time :)
