How Much Ventilation???

Hey Gang,
Its me again. I have a question about ventilation. I have a 10 gal tank. How much ventilation does it needs? I am trying to cover the tank as much as possible. What will happen if i cover almost all the ventilation? Comments will be greatly appreciated...

I have a 10 gal with a matching hood that leaves about 3 inches of air space in the back, all the way across. Seems to be doing fine.

Would a 4-6 1/2" holes be enough? What if i add a small fan. Would that help ventilation?
