i've got a Spectrapure 3-part system. their website says nothing and it didn't even come with a manual!
my unit sits outside and it's been a pretty hot summer. we had a heat waive for a couple of weeks where it was hittin 105 degrees during the day. i've had this unit for about 6 months now. when should i start replacing the contents in the cartridges?

When you notice your TDS rising. A general rule of thumb is (values given depend upon amount of water produced by the unit) 6 months for filters, a 2 years for the membrane.

You should never let a sediment filter go for longer than 3 months without replacing it- UNLESS you know for sure that it won't be completely clogged after changing it every 3 months for an entire year. 4 changes will cost you less than 15 bucks. Better safe than sorry. Once a sediment filter clogs, your membrane is the next thing to plug.
