how often to feed... and how much?

my post count may not be super high, but I am not a total noob to the hobby. I know what to feed my tank. BUT I just got two clowns that I am hoping will lay eggs soon. My wife wants us to give a try to breeding and raising the fry. The female is almost 4 inches long and really fat, and I read in one of the fish breeding books that if you want to encourage breeding than to feed twice a day. does anyone here feed twice a day??? Cause since the day I got into the hobby I only fed my tank once a day, then spot feeding those who cant fend for themselves as needed. Do you agree with the statement that they should be fed twice a day? why or why not?

My Clowns lay eggs every two weeks. I only feed them once a day. I do, however, try to feed alittle more after they just laid eggs as I heard it was very tiring and the extra nutrition would be good. Maybe one extra feeding for a couple of days!

I see youre in Georgia, where abouts? are you anywhere near Augusta? all my lfs around here charge like $50 for a cleaner shrimp, and 3x what they charge on this site for any coral or anything.

I'm about an hour(a little more) north of Atlanta! About 3 hours from Augusta! $50 for a cleaner shrimp is crazy! Look for a pm!

Nothing is wrong with feeding your fish twice a day. I would encourage it. Some fish act much differently if you feed them 2-3 times daily. They will swim around more, looking for food, because they expect it.
Just make sure you do not overfeed.
Good luck with the breeding!
