how often you clean your skimmer?

how often do you clean your skimmer? I do once a week to 10 days, is this the average?

Mine is a pain in the neck to take apart and clean, but I try to do it once a week or so.

I have a Prism and dump the skim every week when I do a water change. I take it apart and clean the insides thoroughly every couple months when I notice its not skimming very efficiently.

empty twice a week, and take it a part and clean every month, including the pump.

EuroReef CS6-2...I empty it about once a week and clean it real well about once a month. Mine is easy to empty or clean...trouble free and easy to deal with. Plus its a monster skimmer for a 55 gal display(plus about 75 gal more in the sump & refugium).

I agree. I clean mine thoroughly about once a month.

I clean the collection cup once every two weeks or so. Mine drain into waste containers, but I rinse them good every two weeks. As far as the skimmer itself, never...just the riser tube and the collection cup. I also clean my skimmer pumps every 6 months or so.
