I have been having some major red algae problems and my little astrea snails just weren't doing a very good job with it. Two days ago, I bought three trochus snails at my local fish store. They're much larger than the astrea snails, have gorgeous shells, and have completely devoured the algae from the rock and glass in my tank. They even filter my sand! They're fantastic!
However, I'm afraid they've made such a big dent in my algae growth that they'll start to starve. Does anyone know what kind of supplements I could add so that they don't go hungry? I've searched this website but haven't found any specific information and what kind of food to add for them.
In particular, I've really appreciated Kip4130's posts on snails... If he would respond, I'd be very grateful!
