ok i got a red mushroom, and the guy keeps flipping himself over, and somehow ends up UNDERNEATH a huge rock getting smashed, well, I have dug him out about 5 times now, and he's been been on the rock for a couple days now, but he keeps "jumping." He's got like this little black spring thing attached to the bottom of him that wasn't there when i got him, Is that him trying to attach or what? I don't get it. How does the rubber band thing work? Won't that smash him? Anyway, Please help!
new to corals, i got another mushroom but he came attached to the rock and is doing very well.

I take a sewing needle and poke it threw the shroom and into the rock and it worked for me a bunch of times.

causing it to split is - killing it? or making two mushrooms? I love mushrooms and I want to have hundreds of all different colors!
Anyway, anyone have any reccomendations on how to feed them? I heard they are low light which makes them need more actual food.

Split (in two). You will end up with another mushroom. I had a piece of LR fall on one mushroom pressing it into the sand. I didnt realize it was gone until the gf asked where it was. When she said "look under that rock" we found the missing mushroom. Apparently the rock was pressing on it right in the middle, it was starting to split in two. Had I left it like that, I wouldve had 2 mushrooms. I just took it out and where it was starting to pinch off, had healed back into a single mushroom again. These things are pretty tough.
Oh, dont worry about feeding it. Just make sure it gets some light. If it starts to lose color (or stretch up really tall towards the light), then move it so it can get more light.

I had a blue shroom I use to feed mysis shrimp. It looked funny opening its mouth and folding in half like a taco to eat it.
It became loose and end up at the power head strainer. Now I feed ricordeas and a bubble tip anemone. :happyfish

Uh almost forgot. To attach it I just use crazy glue. It works for the ricordeas too. Make sure you dont have a power head pointed at them. The coils or spring looking thing you see are the feet trying to get attach to something.
