How To Cure LR

I was wondering if you guys and gals could tell me their method for curing LR in a new tank. I have heard a number of different ways and would like to get a concensus on how to do it. Also, what size sand grains should I go with? I was thinking I would use the smallest grade, is that ok? Thanks.

ok, i too am setting up a tank and from what i understand this is how it goes...
i have no animals in there so i plan on using the rock to start my cycle and so i am getting it uncured (but even if you get "cured" live rock there will be die-off) and curing it in my tank which as i said will help cycle.
now i don't know if you have cycled yet, so it may be different for you.
also, does anyone know if i put ls and lr in there to start cycle, should i still use that piece of shrimp??
cep:)

Putster-
I asked a question like this a few weeks ago. Just throw it on in the tank, and let it run its course. Thomas the shark told me ,"Yes best time to do it. Use a protien skimmer if you can to help remove waste and junk due to the die off. Sometimes curing liverock in the tank can smell pretty bad so be prepared. Depending on the state of the rock some water changes may be necessary, scrubbing the rock may also be needed to get dead stuff off." As far as the sand goes I am not sure. My sand goes from 0.18 to 1.2mm.
Claire-
I would still drop a shrimp in. HTH
Thanks-
Jeremy
