How to diy led light?

hey all guys, im trying to find out how to diy led light for my 28 gallon tank. my previous light was dead, i heard that led light is a good choice. but i check on the internet, its a bit expensive, i cant afford it. so i wanna do it by myself, any one can help? all thanks
