How to host maroons?

I have a male and female tank raised maroon clown fish and a BTA. The BTA has been in the tank for about a week and the maroons havent hosted in it yet. Is there any way I could assist in the hosting?

Get one of those vegi clips that look like a clown fish. I have read that if you put one next to the anenome that it will help them. Just a thought. Good luck!

Get a pic of a maroon hosting a bta on google thats what i did hosted in min.Tape the pic to your glass

Haha that is amazing! I'll have to try it. But my male looks like he has an infected eye. Should I do anything??

Yes i would ask about it the disease and treatment forum.I have never had that happen so dont know what to do for it but ask in that fourm.They will be able to tell you what to do.

you could take them out and put into a smaller tank so the anemone is the only thing they have....mine went right to it...i put them in at the same time and the female jumped right in

IMO tank raised species are always harder to get to host if they host at all. I have had 4 tank raised ocellaris and none have hosted. 2 I had for 4 months, 2 I had for 3, and in the past 2 months I had 2 wild caught, one true perc and one black and white saddle back. Both have hosted with in 1 minute of being placed in the tank. Its amazing to see the difference, my saddle back which is the one I have now actually feeds my anemone, its the coolest thing I have ever seen in my tank thus far.

Give it some more time, it took my maroon about 8 weeks to go into my BTA when I first introduced it to my tank, than it drove the BTA nuts as well as grew to big for the anemone in about 7 months, so it closed up and than the clown moved into my White Sebae Anemone.

i just got a rbta today and my maroon is already hosting it so i guess it depends on the clown

Give your clowns time , they can take up to many months before accepting it . But there is always a chance they won`t at all .

I have a bta and a 2 tank riased clowns. I did the hole taping a pic on the glass never worked. They dont even go near the thing since i bought the bta this past summer. I guess i'm the lucky one to have them not host at all
