Ok...I'll type the question everyone else is asking out loud at their computers....HOW BIG IS THE TANK? We're all hoping you say 500 gallons. That is WAY too many fish for most home setups. Try a group of 3!

I've had a Bangaii for nearly a year and he has been very low maintenance. Loves blood worms more than anything else. Are you saying youve killed 25 Bangaiis? Please give more info on your tank and filtration.

Bangai's are generally very territorial and do best as mated pairs in large aquariums. Too many of these species in one tank and you end up with a bloodbath! I'll add to everyone else's question...how large is your tank????

first off wisner welcome to this board seems like you got on off on the wrong foot for some people.. there are a lot of questions asked about a lot of topics here .. to fully help you with your question we are going to need a little more info..obviously, however not what size the tank is since it is clearly stated on the bottom of you post.. but rather how are your water parameters or how long has your system been up and running.. 25 bangaii's are a bit mush for one tank (little too black and white as well).. they are actually fairly low mainenence fish and keeping a couple souldn't be a problem ..but they aren't good for schooling in a home aquarium.. for your 55. try some other fish as well .. but if your heart is set on bangaii's try getting a pair and then do some reading on how to breed them.. anyway.. give us a little more info next time ..and again .. welcome.. :p

wisner - ha ha I thought I was the only one! I did the same thing the first year of owning my 55g tank. I had 4 in the beginning from lfs for $22 each (in 1997) and got 20 more at $10 ea at wholesale. So I had 24 cardinal and 2 damsels - the most stupid thing I did.
I was losing about 1 - 2 a week. My sister laughed at my cardinals cuz they rarely moved, like a steady picture. How long has your tank been established? because at the time i didn't even know about water parameters, i only knew PH and that was all i did, and i change 15 gallons water each week, and i had almost no sand and little live rocks. trust me, 25 is too many for a 55g tank. just a few are fine, and check water quality. Welcome.

Hey Brian obviously you did read this thread late because in the beginning none of that info was on there it was added later.25 fish is definately too much for a 55.Unless I am just misunderstanding all this. Please explain what you mean about the 25 cardinals, have you killed 25 cardinals over time,or are you planning on adding them at one time.
