How to make a 10g sump/refuge?

I have a 29 gallon reef tank that I would like to make a sump/refuge for. Currently, I have a 10 gallon cichlid tank next to my saltwater tank. I will probably be using this tank for my refuge. What do I need to convert it into a sump/ref tank? I already have salt and sand, but do I need a new filter? Here are some picturees of the tanks together. I will move the cichlids to my other 30 gallon tank.

I know there are some forums that have diagrams of how they look. I built one from the info and pics I found on this site. Go through and look for full tank pics and you'll find some good examples. Bust basically what I did was go to my local crafts store and bought 3-4 pieces of plexiglass. I forget the measurements but you'll want to measure your tank width. 3 pieces I got were the same size and one was taller. You also want to make sure you have enough room for your water to flow in and enough to place a pump. You'll need the silicon sealant/adhesive to place the pieces. Another option is you could check some other sites out or the E site, because they do sell pre-made set up kits.
