How to mod a Biocube?

Okay, this weekend I'm getting two, a 29gal and a 14gal.
What will I need to buy with them? I know a heater, anything else? And I've heard you have to mod the top to get a skimmer to fit? What skimmer should I get? I want to get all of my equipment at once, so any info would be appreciated.

first remove the bio balls, replace them with LR rubble, then cut the opening from area 1 to area 2 so it is all the way across. then get bigger pump....and the stock filter goes in the trash.....just use floss or blue foam filter pads
