How to move anenome?

I am upgrading tanks this weekend and have a rock anenome who has been permanently attached in the sand to the glass bottom for 2 1/2 years. He has never moved more than 2 inches except off of the rock where he was origninally placed. How can I move him? I know you are not supposed to pry off corals or anenomes, but I can't find another option and don't want to injure him. Reasoning with him hasn't worked- he's very stubborn.

I have been told everything from using a powerhead, ice cube, to placing something over it to block the light. I can tell you that I have tried the ph thing and all it did was make it split. I will be watching this to see if someone has an idea that actually work. Good luck
I forgot the air tube suggestion

Just be very careful, I just killed mine from doing this but I just gently pryed it off the rock with my fingers, not the above methods. =(

I ended up draining the tank down until the anenome tips were in the air and then worked on other things while I awaited responses to the thread. He loosened up (my guess in an attempt to move to deeper water) and I took a cup and gently scooped him off of the glass. It seems to have worked and this morning he is actually attached to a rock and looks normal so far. Time will tell. Thanks for the ideas.

It's been nearly a week and the rock anemome is still attached to his original rock location and seems happy.

since your is attached to the bottom glass can you see it from the underside of the tank? or is the tank sitting on a solid surface? if you can see where he is jsut put the icecube on the glass and leave it there till he pulls off.
Ive used the powerhead method with limited success. Everyone I know who has moved one used the icecube on the edge of the foot method with alot of success so thats the route I'm going if I ever move mine again.
If you can actually see him from the underside you have an advantage though since you wont ahve to put the ice right on him.
