a foxface can be netted like normal. just be sure to not use your hand under the net to transfer to the new container.
a lion shouldn't be netted at all. fins will get broken. it's best to corral them into a container while in the tank.

You can corral any fish into a container or a zip lock bag. It is much better for them. Fish get hurt on the nets, not just the kind you have mentioned, any fish. If you have a good sized net, catch the fish in it, but keep it under water. Use a bag or container to pull the fish out of the water. The fish don't get hurt with a net until they come out of the water.

Try your LFS I give away our old catch cups all the time. We only net when catching out of the 312 tanks. Its just better all the way around.

Personally, I use containers for all my fish. Nets can be harmful for some fish, like lions, by getting their spines tangled (as previously mentioned), but the bacteria in the netting can harm other fish as time goes on.
