How to preserve D.I.Y Garlic Extract and save tons of money in the long run

I noticed that if I crush garlic and collect the juices in a container, the garlic extract will turn mouldy after about 1-2 days. Is there any way I could preserve them without refrigeration?
adding Vitamin C juice?
I'm using the unbelievably expensive Kent Garlic Extreme. Thought that a DIY garlic juice that can stay fresh will save a couple of bucks! :D

Far from an expert here but I'm sure Beth will jump in if I'm too far off. Why bother? A whole Garlic is what $1.00, one clove for about 20 cents? heck, grind it up, soak it up, use it for a day or two and start over.
Just my .02,
Paul

I use the same product you do. how expensive is it in your area? It is around $15.00 a bottle here, at a drop a day, it lasts a really long time.

it cost US$30 here....woo hoo! mighty expensive for that amount in a bottle IMO...I mean when compared to fresh garlic at US$1
I tend to use more than one drop per brine shrimp/mysis frozen cube. About 3 drops per cube...the fishes don't mind at all.....they seem to love it even more...i don't seem to recall reading any negative effects on too much garlic in food (is there btw??)
Well....what I was thinking of is instead of having to crush and keep crushing the garlic whenever its feeding time everyday, there must be a way of preserving these DIY garlic juice much like how garlic extreme can stay fresh in that bottle.
If I can do that....wow....tons of $$$ saved in the long run! Can use the extra cash to buy other equipments :)

$30.00 is high. My bottle said not to use more than 1 to 2 drops per day. I use only one drop and my tank inhabitants still go crazy the second the food hits the water. Much more than withut the garlic.

I am not sure why you are experiencing mold. I crush the garlic up and place it in a small container with some ro or tank water. I let it sit in the frig and use as needed. I have never experienced a mold issue and use the same container for months on end. When I feed I pour some of the water out and let the food soak. When I water gets low I add more. I keep track of the potency via the smell test and when it seems the brew is not as potent I replace the garlic.

I tried many times, they really turn mouldy after about 2 days without refrigeraion.
This is what I'm trying to find out....which is whether or not we can make garlic stay fresh without refrigeration. Perhaps adding salt to it would help, or some lemon juice, or something that I didn't think of........
If Garlic Extreme can last without refrigeration, I was thinking why not DIY Garlic Juice? It says on Garlic Extreme bottle that Vitamin C and Citric Acid was used as preservative.

ok I see what you are saying but what is the problem with keeping it in the frig? Just wondering. Not too sure how you would make your own elixir.

Garlic is used as a supplement to help boast the fish immune system and fight off disease and parasites. Some members swear by it, others think the effects are trivial but most have used it in some capacity at one point or another. Personally I think it is invaluable in keeping fish healthy. It alsol will entice finicky fish to eat. No pun intended.
