How to put a picture next to your name?

This may seem like a stupid question but how do i put a picture next to my name? I relize where you go but can anyone give me instructions on how to google a flame angel and put it next to my name?

one i woud like but probally wont work would be like a picture of some one racing sno-x on a artic cat.. hibbert or malinoski, or simons, ebert anyone lol
or i would like a picture of a little hippo or a school of tangs or something cool idk if i like the tank pic.. its cool though tht was posted above.
could i get a pic from a site then totaly resize it ..
