How to set up a seahorse tank.

I want to set up a seahorse tank but need more info.
How many gallons do you need?
Can you keep invets like shrimp with them? How about mushroom corals?
What type of lighting?
What do they like to cling to?
How do you get them to eat frozen foods?
What about LR?
Lighting?
This site doesn't sell them but where can I get tank raised seahorses?
What goods books should I read?
Thanks in advance.

seahorses dont need special lighting but if you are going to keep corals then thats another thing. The need to have a very high tank but it really doesnt have to be long. Depending on what seahorses you want but if you want to keep like the kuda seahorses or similar sized then a 10 gallon should be ok for a pair, be sure to get captive raised, from here you can feed them frozen food which is way better than wild caught which need live food. If you feed frozen try to enrich their food in vitamins like once a week(not sure on that one), they like mysis but also you can feed them live brine as a treat. Some reccomend feeding two times a day but the right ammount because to much will mess with water paremeters. Also another must is to have pristine water conditions, so R/O water and protein skimmer is very important, and the last thing I would like to add is to not have strong water movement but some for the food to move. Thats all I have but be sure to do some info on it before buying one.

Hi EelFreak!
I'm thinking of adding my 20 gallon tall to my existing system. I'd like to plumb it to my 100 gallon reef. (Ha! "plumb" is used loosely <smile>) Would I be able to use the 20 gallon portion as my specialty sea horse tank?
