How to silence my Berlin Turbo Hangon

I have a Berlin Turbo Hangon skimmer that sits outside of my sump. It has two return elbows that are over the sump for the water to fall back inside. The water falls about 6 inches and is quite loud. Is there something I can build to break the water and make it quiet going back in the sump? I know I can't extend the tubes underwater because any backpressure can cause flooding.
Thanks.

you could try to attach the filter bags to the returns. it would break up the water and extend the reach to the sump water's level.:) or you could just extend the tubes to just above the sump water level.
i know that my tank is getting low on water when i hear the water from my berlin h.o. trickling into the tank.
