how to trap shrimp? also eel question

I bought a 9" snowflake eel and he is currently in QT but he is going to be put in the DT soon. I have a fire shrimp in my DT that I need to remove and I am wondering if anyone knows how I can catch the sucker.
Also I have 2 8-10 inch serpent stars, will these be ok with the eel?

I have tried everything to catch shrimp but I just found out today the best thing to use and the quickest and easiest.
from UltraLife its called x terminator mantis shrimp trap its like 20 bucks shipped I put it in the tank turned the lights off 2 hours later I checked on it and the pepermint!!!!!!!!!!!!! shrimp was in there I picked it out of the tank case closed

Dude, he's not trying to catch a mantis shrimp. Hes trying to catch a fire shrimp. Anyway, you probably have a better chance of catching the little bugger at night time. But more than likely, you will have to take some rock out as I did when I needed to get my gcbs out.

ya when i got my fireshrimp the guy had to take some of the rock out to get him

ya your stars will be fine. are you worried the eel will eat your shrimp? i have a 12-14" snowflake eel & 3 peperment shrimp my eel never bothers anything in my tank you just gota keep him well fed! mine eats everyday

Fire shrimp aren't cheap enough to risk.
Use a clear plastic soda bottle, thoroughly rinsed. Stick some food in it, sink it near where the shrimp hangs out. Keep an eye on it.

I know hes not trying catch mantis shrimp I didn't use it for that either I used it for pepermint worked within 2 hours and no waiting either set trap in leave come back pull trap out the best 20 bucks ever spent might be called mantis trap but is great for all shrimp and crabs ext............

tried that didn't work for me used it several different ways and attempted multiable times plus it sucks waiting there for hours to wait for him to go in I hate baby sitting a tank wasting time

also I ripped my whole reef apart 2 catch pep shrimp and fire shrimp before and its a nightmare they will even hide in the rock if you take all of the rock out easier to catch fish IMO Dude get the trap trust me its the best thing I have ever used its also the easiest and hassel free

How big is the tank?
I've never had any problem catching a cleaner or fire shrimp. Just go in with something plastic, rather than a net, and basically catch it in your hands.
