What is the best way to clean the element in a cannister filter???without getting water all over the floor?? Does this sound rite?? I have a ball valve from the tank to the intake of the pump then a hose going into the cannister from the pump, then I have another ball valve coming out of the cannister to the return of the tank. Is it ok to close the ball valve going from the tank to the pump let the pump run for a couple seconds to get some of the water out of the cannister then quickly close the ball valve coming out of the cannister to the tank and turn off the pump . That should lower the water in the cannister so I can unscrew the cover without spilling any water. any other suggestions???

Without asking you a million questions, I would just call the tech dept at the manufacturer. Most good companies have great tech help.
