I am going to buy a cleanup crew from here...went to lfs and one place wanted $3.50 per turbo snail. Sandbed is starting to show some growth, might be time to do a watrer change or clean the fliter. Here what i was thinking for 72 gallon bowfront. I also need to shoot a powerhead down on the left side of the tank too, i think that will help.
20 Blue Hermit Crabs
20 Scarlet Crabs
20 Turbo Snails
5-peppermint shrimp
2-coral banded shrimp
2-cleaner shrimp
2 lettuce thingies
5-emarald crabs
10-nasssarius snails
2-queen conch
orange linka star
any suggestions? too much? different star fish? cucumber?

I've heard CBS can get to be pretty aggressive. I'd also only do 1 cleaner shrimp in a tank that size.
I'd also suggest not adding all of those at once, especially in a new tank.

How much LR do you have? I would say that crew is a bit much. The star shouldn't be added to a new tank. The "lettuce thingies" are lettuce nudibranches...beneficial but not required. They are very small and can get chopped up if you don't have screens on your powerheads.

I would stongly recommend that you not get a coral banded shrimp, they are really agressive. If you get them, than you can call your peppermint shrimp "food". The CBS will eat them. I think that 2 CBS in your tank wouldnt be enough room.

I have that mush live rock in my 50 gallon, and i have a CBS in there, and he has killed so many, let me make the list:
newly hatched bamboo shark
pepperment shrimp
and my personal favorite
my cleaner shrimp
.... sadly more to come.
I plan to sell the guy pretty soon.

not sure where you are in NJ, but anywhere near Toms River, there's a place that sells the snails and little hermits for $1 a piece, emeralds for 3.99. It's on Route 9 in Toms River. Aqua Oceans. He carries sand snails, shrimps. Pretty much all you listed plus zebra hermits. Sometimes zebra snails.
