hqi upgrade

I know there was a similar thread...I cant find it.

Anyway...Im thinking of upgrading my daughters 70 watt sunpod to a 150 watt....using the same fixture of course. So Im sure I will have to replace a ballast or something to power a 150 instead of the 70. Anybody know what I would need to replace in order for it to work? Thanks

I believe just the ballast. The 150 and the 70 are identicle in fixture size, 20" version anyway. Other than that I cant think of what else would need to be swapped out. Its possible (however unlikely) that the ballast for the 70 may be the same as the 150, not sure about that though.
Never mind, no it isnt the same the 70watt ballast is different than the 150.

I think so also...just wanted to be sure before I order any parts.

the bulb itself is a different size also. The 150w bulb is about an inch longer then the 70w bulb and will not fit in the 70w bracket.
