HUGE PROBLEM

Long story short.
I get back from vacation 1 1/2 weeks to a dry / hot / home. My "better half" decided it would be best to shut off the A/C while away to save money. Well after I've seen 4 fish die over the past day I rushed to check my water levels; everything perfect except for a huge huge issues. My pH is around 7.4 and my Alkalinity is off the charts unreadable!
Reading online I found that the this issue can be caused by lack of CO2 flowing thru the house (no A/C), it'll unbalance your pH in a quick hurry.
I added some buffer for a quick fix. What should I do?!
Thanks,
Dave
PS 75 gallon tank, water change was 2 weeks ago (10 gallon) - should I do another?!

I would definitely do another water change, possibly a few smaller ones after that as well just to balance it all out again.

If your pH is that low, but your alk is off the charts, something is out of whack.
Check your Ca, and your Mg levels, as these go had in hand with your pH and alk.
If your home has been closed-up, it could partially be associated with accumulated CO2. Drop an airline into the tank or increase the surface agitation some other way (with a PH, etc).
Was any cleaning with solvents or other products done near the tank while you were gone?
