My 5" Humu only eats Clams, Shrimp, Brine shrimp etc. Won't touch Flake food at all. My 2" in another tank eats flake. Any way to get the bigger one to eat flake food?

Bigolhorns, from your post, it looks as if you are feeding your humu a nice, varied diet. I really wouldn't worry if he wont eat any flake. I have never tried flake, I feed my humu, clam, squid, shrimp, silversides, krill, brine, and mysis. He is healthy as an ox, an unbelievaby colorful. You can soak your frozen foods in zoe as a vitamin supplement if you think he needs it. Like I said though, I really wouldn't loose any sleep over him not eating flake. Bo

WELL IF YOUREALLY WANT YOUR HUMU TO EAT THE FLAKE FOOD THERE IS TWO WAYS OF DOING IT. THE 1ST IS TO JUST FEED HIM NOTHING BUT FLAKE HE WILL EAT IT EVENTUALLY AND THE SECOND IS TO PUT SOME KENT MARINE GARLIC XTREME ON THE FLAKES . HE SHOULD EAT IT THE 1ST TIME YOU GIVE IT TO HIM.

since your already feeding your trigger varied gourmet meals the flakes probably dont look or taste as good as the meaty foods your throwing in their. watch your trigger and youll know what foods he like best.

Quick question---Are you trying to wean him off these other foods and just do the flake thing??? Or are you just thinking he needs something in addition to the diet you mentioned??
If you are trying to get him to eat ONLY flake-yes then you could starve him for up to two weeks till he takes it. Really though triggers need real food, something they can sink their big teeeth into--in thier little trigger brains since they can't have live food the least we could do is give them something in their normal diet that used to be alive.
