My cleaner shrimp have been with an assortment of triggers for like 6 months and they're fine. They've been with a humu, niger and sargassum. Most fish can recognize a cleaner shrimp as beneficial and leave it alone.
If you do add a cleaner shrimp, put it in the tank at night. That way the trigger will be asleep and won't think you're putting food in the tank.

humus get nasty when they are large, but a larger cleaner should be fine for until the trigger is larger, imo. be aware that your trigger might see any shrimp as expendable.

Yeah; I think its a matter of when the shrimp is eaten, not if. In captivity, anything can happen though. But bottom line is that Humus don't stay the cute little guy you see in every lfs; they grow into real & aggressive triggers.

I had 3 cleaner shrimp in my 35g tank. They were put in before the triggers were. It took them a while, but they finnally chowed down all 3 after about a year.
