Hurray! On my way to my Aggressive 90g!

Last week I picked up a 90g glass with overflow, for $250, not bad considering it was brand new. Several days ago, my father and I started building a stand. Yestarday I got my aragonite sand, and I also made some DIY Liverock, which I made more today and right now they are curing and hardening!
My Agreesive tank is going to have about a 2in. sandbed, with the one side of the tank having a rock wall, with caves, going all the way up to about an inch or two below the water level, and the rest of the tank will be mainly open.
Livestock:
Zebra Eel $100
Small Volitan Lion $40-50 at LFS
Eventually I'm going to get:
Orange Serpant star $50
and
I would only get one of the following: Leaf Fish, Dragon Wrasse, Regal Angel.
Anyways, I'm excited
Anyone see any flaw with my livestock?
P.S. I will eventually upgrade the tank size once everything gets bigger, but I'm buying everything when they are small.

No the eel and the lion are hardy, and a good start. They will require some moderate feeding time, and a lion can be moody in a new tank, i would let you bio filter mature first, and do the lion, then the eel. And wait 2-3 months for the other, a good rule is one fish a month. All awsome selection, i have the same fish. the eel is melloy and a great addition, just get eggcrate to keep him in the tank. FYI you may need to use live fish for both to start eating, i would research other way, thus it can help with the agression of the eel and lion. I did not use live food, and it too 4 days to get going. Also maybe a russell lion, they don't get as big.

Skip on the regal as your tank might be a bit small and you should also consider that they have a horrible survival rate in captivity and require excellent water coditions. Personally I like the leaf fish. Good luck with your new tank!

your plans are great so far. The only thing i would say needs a little help would be you need some real live rock in with your DIY liverock. I would use atleast a 1/3 natural live rock. This will not only help with your tank and DIY rock to mature, but will GREATLY improve the filtration of the tank. Next, to feed your lion, i fed mine ghost shrimp for 2 days when i first got him. Then i waited 5 days and did not feed him. Then i got frozen food, put it on a feeding stick and shook it around in front of his face. He took it because he was so hungry. That is the best and most common way to get them to start feeding on frozen foods. I did the same with my eel too. Good luck!

I like the choice of the eel, lion, and leaf fish. Definitely leave the angel off like suggested. Also, the suggestion about using SOME actual live rock is a must, but you do not need that much. Just a little to seed the DIY stuff. Excellent tank ideas so far however.

Ya, I know, I was going to put a few small pieces with lots of coraline on it, or it wouldn't grow. I might actually be getting two eels, not sure, a zebra like before, but my mother liked this yellowhead eel that is already living with the zebra in the same tank at the LFS.

You could not have picked a better pair to go together, just make sure you have tons of hiding space and know the golden head is a night time eater and will still bite at anything that he can fit in his mouth. The zebra is normaly very docile and loves live crabs and shrimp so watch the inverts. Enjoy and buy egg crate to cover the tank.

My tank isn't open top, we are building a stand and canopy right now, like we did for my other 90g, so it is closed up completely.
